Tell your story more truly.

All of our stories are shaped by where we have come from, what has happened to us, and the things we have done. But these things do not have to define us. Anxiety, depression, shame, trauma, and struggle do not get to write your story. In therapy, together, we will explore your story - the hard parts, the good parts, and the parts you hide in order to shine light on them and allow the true story of emerging beauty to be written instead. Then, learn to live life from your true identity with the tools you need.

Hi - I’m Anne Jansen - Registered Nurse and Counselor

I was first a nurse, and then a counselor. I spent my nursing career working in oncology, hospice, and post-partum care. My expertise in these areas of illness, death and dying, new life, and transition ultimately led me to my passion - caring for people’s hearts and creating spaces for people to be seen and known in whatever place they find themselves through counseling.

There was no greater privilege than walking with people in their hardest moments. And, having walked hard things in my own life, I also came to know the importance of trustworthy guides and companions for the journey of healing. My own personal counseling compels me in the work I do.

I have been married for 17 years and have 4 children - my interests include flower gardening, all outdoor activities, beekeeping, and raising animals. I am also the Founder and Executive Director of The Well GR - a safe place for all women to come as they are, be seen and known, encounter Christ, be changed, and go and tell.

My approach to therapy is warm, gentle, trauma-informed, and incorporates what we know about how the nervous system works through the science of interpersonal neurobiology and polyvagal theory.

I believe that we are made body, soul, and spirit and we must consider ourselves holistically. I draw from counseling tools including those from IFS, CBT, Narrative Therapy, and the Christian faith.

    Group Therapy - Confessional Communities

For most people, group therapy can be advantageous to individual therapy. In relationship with others we learn to be fully seen and known. In the context of group therapy we can practice eradicating shame and living more wholly in our “real” lives.

“No matter what our stories tell us, there is always time to retell that story, to create in our lives what God created us to do and be.”
